St. Paul City Council adopts Cuba resolution

On January 23, the St. Paul City Council unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the U.S. embargo against Cuba. It was sponsored by Council members Jane Prince, Rebecca Noecker and Dai Thao, and with it, St. Paul joins Minneapolis and seven other cities in the U.S. that have adopted similar resolutions. The connections between St. Paul and Minnesota going back to the 19th century are set out in this background information document. A video of the Council discussion can be seen here, with the discussion beginning at about 18:15. It was covered in the St. Paul Pioneer Press and was picked up here in Cuba news .
