NNOC and ICAP meeting in Havana 4/29/15

Feb 14, 2015 by

December 17, 2014 was an historic day with the return of Gerardo, Ramon and Antonio as well as the simultaneous announcements by President Raul Castro and President Barack Obama of the beginning of dialogue between the two countries toward normalizing relations. Now we can finally say the Cuban 5 are back in Cuba with their loved ones.

Many of us in the United States who were involved in the struggle to free the Five celebrate with joy this victory. But also on December 17 with the announcement of a new U.S. approach towards Cuba our movement faces many challenges ahead and more than ever we need to unite our efforts to continue and strengthen our solidarity work with Cuba.  May Day is approaching and some of you may be making plans to travel to Cuba and participate in International Workers Day activities. As every year, on May 2nd a solidarity conference will take place in Havana. The National Network On Cuba (NNOC) and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) would like to invite you to attend a meeting on April 29 in Havana where we will have an opportunity to meet and discuss past projects and plan for future actions. We will send more information as soon as the details are available.  Please join together to celebrate May Day in Havana and renew our commitment to end the U.S. blockade of Cuba and to recognize Cuba’s sovereignty.
