July 26 is the 63rd anniversary of the rebel attack on Moncada prison, the
beginning of the Cuban revolution. Consuelo Elba, the film’s director and a
participant in both the underground and the rebel army, uses historic
footage and contemporary interviews with veteran combatants to document the
crucial role of women in the clandestine urban struggle.

Produced by ICAIC, the Cuban Film Institute, 50 minutes, Spanish with
English subtitles. Food and drink may be brought in from Pepito’s restaurant adjacent to the theater.
