Educators Delegation to Cuba, May 27-June 10, 2016

Nov 11, 2015 by

Would you like to go to Cuba to experience for yourself the uniqueness of Cuba and its many achievements in Education?

Some interesting facts:

1. The education system is 100% subsidized by the government, meaning that Cuban students at all levels can attend school for free.

2. According to a 2014 report by The World Bank, Cuba has the best education system in Latin American and the Caribbean and the only country on the continent to have a high-level teaching faculty.

3. Cuba is also the nation in the world that allocates the highest share of its national budget, 13 percent, to education.

Would you like to be an ambassador of friendship between the peoples of our nations?

The Berkeley-Palma Soriano Sister City Association is taking a delegation of 10-12 educators to Cuba to participate in Educational Exchanges including the Arts, Language, History, and Ecology, and celebrate the “Festival de los Arboles” from May 27-June 10, 2016. The price is $2,200 from Miami. This is not a traditional tourist visit as you will be in communities learning and sharing with Cuban people. Delegates must attend informational and planning meetings. Our first meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 19th from 6:30– 8:00 pm at my house: 2646 Dana St. at the corner of Derby, Berkeley. Please RSVP to let me know if you will be attending. Deadline for applications will be in December.
