Cuba will propose Washington health cooperation project for Haiti
HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 29 (acn) Cuba will propose Washington a trilateral health assistance project for Haiti after considering it with Haitian authorities, Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez announced in New York.
Rodriguez told reporters that Cuba is willing to be part of trilateral projects with the United States, which have substantial reach and a real impact on the health situation of nations that receive such assistance.
According to Rodriguez, other sectors for cooperation would include the fight on drug trafficking and terrorism, tow major problems affecting the world.
Referring to the fight on illegal drugs, Rodriguez said that there are punctual contacts and dialog with the U.S., although Cuba faces no problems as to an internal drug market, consumption or production of such illegal substances.
As to the fight on terrorism, the Cuban foreign minister recalled that his country does not and will not allow any activity linked to those actions, disregarding their nature or motivation.
Postal mail, communications, the rescue of persons in the Florida Straits and the environment are also issues on the US-Cuba bilateral agenda.
